2011 Auditions Dates

Company - Company in Training - COIT Elite - **NEW** Performance Team
Saturday - June 18th - 3:15pm - 7:15pm

Dancers will participate together in a class prior to the audition. Dancers will then audition in groups that will coincide with company level desired. The dancers will audition in ballet and jazz



Mini Company - Mini Elite - **NEW** Petite Performance
Monday - June 27th - 10:30am - 12:30pm


Dancers will participate together in a class that will become the audition. They will learn a short combination and perform in groups with their peers.



Parent Meeting - June 17th - 8:00pm




Auditions will be held to select members for the following groups:


Company Levels

Advanced Company - Dancers ages 9 through high school
Company in Training Elite - Dancers ages 7 - 12
Company in Training - Dancers age

Requirements:
** Age 5 by January 1st, 2012
** Open and positive attitude
** Desire to perform for an audience
** Strong commitment to train technically

***NEW*** Performance Group Levels
(designed for dancers with a desire to perform on stage and be part of our team with a lighter time commitment)

Petite Performers - Dancers ages 4- 6
Performance Team - 5th grade a

Requirements:
** Age 5 by January 1st, 2012 for petite group, entering 5th grade for Performance Team
** Desire to perform for an audience
** Open and positive attitude and a love for dance

Dancers who are accepted will be placed into an appropriate company or competition group based upon a combination of their technical level, performance level, commitment level and age

Guidelines for Parents:

** Parent(s) are encouraged to attend a pre-audition parent meeting to understand the company and performance team commitments

** Any parent that has a dancer trying out for the Advanced Company level, must register for a parent interview prior to the audition

** Participation in 2 weeks of Summer Camp is required for all company members of all levels.  Participation in all 3 weeks of camp is highly recommended as this is a tremendous opportunity to work with the most experienced and talented group of instructors you will find.  Dancers travel throughout the country for camps of this quality.

Participation in 1 week of Summer Camp is required for all performance team members of both levels.  Participation in 2 to 3 weeks is recommended.

Audition Procedure

The dancers will report at the time designated for the group level they are interested in.  They will receive a number that they will need to keep until all results are posted.  The audition will include class and an evaluation of ballet and jazz combinations.

Note - You may audition for more than one group. Consult the staff to determine if you will need to attend both sessions.

Selection will be based upon

** Work ethic and effort level
** Demonstration of excellence in technique
** Demonstration of stage presence and performance
** Knowledge and execution of the audition choreography
** Demonstration of a positive attitude
** Positive Family Support and Attitude

Post- Audition Procedure

Results will be emailed to all participants on or before July 13th. We will use the number that the dancers received during auditon to communicate the results. Individual names will not be posted.
